The v-twin Multistrada is doing a bit of a swan song this year, as we ready ourselves for the 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4.
Now, we don’t expect the two-cylinder bike to completely disappear, but it would seem the road-focused Multistradas are destined to get two more cylinders in their engine package.
As such, Borgo Panigale is giving this popular motorcycle one last model year hurrah, with this “Cadillac” version dubbed the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour.
Set above the Multistrada 1260 S by €1,500, the 2020 Ducati Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour is just under the Pikes Peak model on pricing, with €22,490 MSRP in Europe.
For that extra coin though, Ducati is making a strong proposition for those looking to go long distances on this do-everything motorcycle.
First up, you will notice the panniers that come with the package, but if you look deeper, you will see that Ducati has added an electric fuel cap, a tire pressure monitoring system, heated grips, as well as fog lamps.
Other features include a robust electronics package from Ducati, which consists of traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, cornering lights, an up/down quickshifter, cruise control, vehicle hold control for stops on hills, and the Skyhook electronic semi-active suspension.
For those more touring minded, you will be happy to know that the 2020 Ducati Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour gets oil servicing every 15,000 km, and valve servicing every 30,000 km.
In case you forgot, the 1,262cc Ducati Testastretta DVT engine makes a claimed 158hp, with 85% of its maximum 95 lbs•ft of torque available at just 3,500 rpm, thanks to the variable valve timing. The Ducati Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tour tips the scales at 525 lbs at the curb.
