Brad Pitt to Play Steve McQueen in Biography Movie

Brad Pitt is set to play Steve McQueen in a biography chronicling the actor’s life. McQueen made a living with his starring roles in The Great Escape and Bullitt, but is better known to us for his love of fast bikes, fast cars, and his three ex-wives. So, we can expect to see Pitt in some iconic cars, and on some vintage bike on the 70′ screen.

Brad Pitt has long been associated with the movie portrayal of McQueen’s life, but have a few other actors as well, such as Ewan McGregor, Band of Brothers star Damien Lewis, and current Bond actor, Daniel Craig.

The movie will be based upon Marshall Terrill’s biography “Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel “, and may cover McQueen’s addictions, including his penchant for bikes, cars, women, drugs as well as chronicle his three marriages and struggles with lung cancer.

The film is expected to go into production early next year.

  • I would have put Daniel Craig at the top of the list, but he should be able to pull it off.

    That’s a zero chopper…. Nice!

Brad Pitt is a B movie actor at best, regardless of the movies he’s been in. Casting someone just
for their smile will not sell tickets. Yes McQueen had a great smile but he could pull you in with his
ability to play a part perfectly. My vote would be for Daniel Craig for his look, demeanor, and ability to act beyond a mere presence. A film of Steve has been a long time coming. Looking forward to it.
