Set to start physiotherapy in about a week and to back on the bike in three weeks, Hopkins hopes to be ready in time for World Superbike's season-opener at Phillip Island in six weeks' time. Consulting with physicians before the surgery on Thursday, the amputation of part of Hopper's finger was viewed as the best way to resolve his continuing problems with his hand, and ensure that his 2012 WSBK season would remain intact. With Hopper hoping to return to MotoGP in 2013, we don't think the Anglo-American's resolve to accomplish that goal can be questioned at this point.

Rumor: Ducati 799 Supersport for 2013?

Popular

Rumors

2013

799

bothan spies

Ducati

Ducati 1199 Panigale

Ducati 799

Ducati 799 Panigale

production racing

rumor

supersport

World Supersport

WSBK

WSS

Now that the 2012 model year motorcycles have debuted (though we still expect a few mid-year releases), the speculation can now begin for the 2013 model year machines. Wasting no time in this process, the Italian press is afire with rumors of a Ducati 799 superbike model to compliment the recently released Ducati 1199 Panigale. A rumor of this nature, this early in the year, is certainly an interesting one. There should be little debate over the fact that Borgo Panigale has a supersport variant of the 1199 superbike already figured out, tested, & ready for prime time, and our Bothan spies confirm just as much to us.
