Here’s another break from the doom and gloom that is coming with the coronavirus, and this time we thank the good folks at the “Ready to Race” brand for making a tire-shredding video with the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.

Revised for the 2020 model year, the venerable “Beast” comes with an all-new chassis, and many improvements over the outgoing model.

While the top power figure of 177hp (132 kW) remains, coupled to a whopping 103 lbs•ft (140 Nm) of torque, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R gets a weight reduction for the 2020 model year, with the Austrians claiming 416 lbs (189kg) when dry.

A new Triumph Street Triple R is coming, say the folks at MCN. The British paper has always had an unusually close relationship with Triumph Motorcycles, so we have every reason to believe that the British marque will be showing this new bike on the quoted February 11th date.

As one would expect, the 2020 Triumph Street Triple R will be based off the recently debuted and revised Triumph Street Triple RS, though with lower-spec components.

The MV Agusta Rush 1000 was a surprise for us in several ways, at the EICMA show in Milan. For starters, the machine arrived the Monday night before the opening of the trade show, and after MV Agusta had already announced its 2020 models.

But then there is also the bike itself, which is styled to be extremely provocative. It is clear, when you are a small design-focused manufacturer that is used to selling limited edition motorcycles, you can find it easier to take risks.

Whether you love or hate the MV Agusta Rush 1000 (I happen to quite like the machine), you have to give the Varese brand its credit – they have no problem taking chances.

This is a story we broke a eight months ago finally coming true. The 790 engine platform from KTM has finally grown into the 890 platform that is ready for the Euro 5 emissions requirements.

And if you will allow us to toot our own horn just a little bit more, our predictions of an up-spec middleweight Duke have turned out true as well.

Now, while we may be patting ourselves on the back here, the real winners are all the sport bike enthusiasts out there, because the best middleweight naked on the market just got better, in just about every way. Say hello to the KTM 890 Duke R.

They call it The Beast, and for good reason, because the KTM 1290 Super Duke is a v-twin monster for the street, and now for the 2020 model year, it is getting even more beastly as it just debuted at EICMA.

Instead of giving the KTM 1290 Super Duke R a ridiculous top power figure (peak horsepwoer remains at 177hp (132 kW), the Austrians focused on coaxing more tire-shredding torque from the Super Duke R. As such, a whopping 103 lbs•ft (140 Nm) of torque is on tap at 8,000 rpm.

The changes for 2020 don’t stop there though, as a new chassis has been thrown into the mix, which is closely based off what was seen on the KTM RC8 superbike. The Beast even loses weight in the process, with a claimed 416 lbs (189kg) when dry.

A little surprise landed in Milan today, courtesy of the folks at MV Agusta. We thought that the Italian brand had already shown us everything for EICMA this year, but now we get to see the new MV Agusta Rush 1000.

Based off the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR that was released this past weekend, the MV Agusta Rush 1000 is the naked bike taken to the extreme.

The folks at MV say that the Rush 1000 is an homage to the drag racing scene, but to our eye, it looks like the design team was let loose to make a truly unique streetfighter.

The 2019 EICMA show hasn’t even started yet, and already we have our first bike debut. Say hello to the new MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR, the Italian brand’s newest naked bike that the rest of us can afford.

Based off the well-received MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro, which debuted last year, the RR model brings the same basic streetfighter design to market, but without the über-exclusive price tag that matched.

The EICMA show in Milan is just a few days away now, which means that the big brands are reaching the zenith in their teasing for next year’s motorcycle models. Of course, this includes KTM.

We have already been teased the KTM 1290 Super Duke R ad nauseam, and today is no different in that regard. But…we do finally get to see the Super Duke R prototype in all its glory.

Other than seeing more clearly how KTM has built a new steel trellis frame (modeled after the one found on the RC8 superbike), the obvious use of WP Suspension’s top-spec forks and shock, and how the bodywork will come together (note the winglets hidden by the front shrouds), there aren’t too many surprises.

Still, we think KTM has a done a good job on this model refresh, and we can now finally appreciate it a little bit better than before, hence why we are sharing it with you.

We knew going into it that the Ducati Streetfighter V4 would be an expensive motorcycle, and I have been telling readers to brace for a $20,000 price tag since this bike first began teasting.

Well, sometimes it sucks to be right, because the 2020 Ducati Streetfighter will certainly come with an MSRP of $19,995 – which is a lot of money for a naked motorcycle, and places the red bike at the top of the pricing heap in the category.

The crown jewel of Ducati’s 2020 model unveiling event was easily the new Streetfighter V4. The superbike with no fairings is ready to shred the street with its 205hp (153 kW), and its 90 lbs•ft of peak torque.

Complete with all the electronics found on the Panigale V4 superbike, the 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 even has winglets to help with high-speed stability.

Of course, none of this class-leading performance is going to be cheap, with European pricing set at €19,990 for the base model machine, while the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S will cost a stout €22,990 MSRP. Still, the bike is surely goin to turn heads.

We have been waiting for Ducati to make this motorcycle for literally years. Ever since the Ducati Streetfighter 1098 debuted, we have begged the Italian brand to follow-up this mean machine with models from its new superbike lines.

Now with the Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, our prayers have been answered, and the 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 is ready for public consumption.

Based obviously on the Panigale V4 superbike, the DNA from the track is obvious in this street-focused machine.
