Piaggio Group Americas is recalling a bevy of models for a front brake master cylinder that may allow air in the hydraulic lines.

The recall affects 1,628 units of the 2014-2015 Aprilia Tuono V4 1000, 2016 Tuono V4 1100, 2015 Caponord 1200 ABS/ADD, and 2016 Caponord Rally motorcycles, which were manufactured June 18, 2013 to June 13, 2016.

Air getting into the brake lines could increase the stopping distance of the affected motorcycles, which causes a safety hazard. Thus, the recall being issued.

Piaggio will notify affected owners, and Aprilia dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder pushrod and boot assembly, free of charge.

This recall is expected to begin sometime in October 2016, and concerned owners may contact Aprilia customer service at 1-866-705-1727. As always, the NHTSA is also available at 1-888-327-4236 and safercar.gov.
